Web application overview
Femina OS on the web is the internal operations console for Femina Hip Tanzania. It ties together clubs (customers), people (clubbers and staff), publications and issues, distribution orders, geography, partners, projects, field reporting, and audit history in one authenticated workspace.
Purpose and outcomes
After using the web app, authorised staff should be able to:
- See program health at a glance on the Dashboard (distribution volumes, reach, orders, charts).
- Maintain the club register end to end: list, filter, import, export, open a club, manage Customer Staff, * Clubbers*, and Migration in Clubs.
- Run the publications pipeline: pick a publication from the sidebar list, manage Issues, then per issue work through Overview, Issue Distributions, Contributions & Support, Projects, Report (field reports scoped to that issue), and Activities (when permitted) in Publications.
- Operate distribution orders from the global Orders hub (status KPIs, issue filter, search) and from an issue’s Issue Distributions tab, including order detail screens.
- Register non-club recipients and types in Customers, and logistics partners in Distributors.
- Anchor every club to real geography using the region sidebar and district Councils / Wards tabs in Locations (Root-managed hierarchy).
- Track institutional partners and program projects in Partners and Projects, including issue-scoped projects inside an issue.
- Record and review field activity in Field Reports and from an issue’s Report tab.
- Investigate who changed what using filters on Activity Log.
- Govern access and reference data under Settings (users, roles and permissions, tags, migrations).
Who it is for
Typical users are program, M&E, outreach, and system administration staff. What each person can open is determined by their assigned role and permissions (not only the role name). If a menu item or button is missing, your account may lack that permission—contact a Root user.
Information architecture
Main navigation
Matches the live application sidebar (Dashboard, Clubs, Customers, Publications, Projects, Orders, Distributors, Locations, Partners, Field Reports, Activity Log, Settings).
Deep links and shells
Several modules use a two-pane or shell layout instead of a flat list-only page:
| Area | Behaviour |
|---|---|
| Publications | Visiting Publications redirects to the first publication (or New publication if none). A publication list stays visible on the left; Issues and issue workspaces load on the right. |
| Locations | Visiting Locations redirects to the first region. A region sidebar (search + zone filter) stays visible; districts and district detail (Councils / Wards tabs) load in the main area. |
| Settings | Visiting Settings redirects to User Management. Pill tabs switch between User Management, Role and Permissions, Tags Management, and Migrations Management. |
How modules connect
- Locations supply the hierarchy used when creating or filtering Clubs.
- Clubs (as customers) and Customers can appear as targets in distribution orders.
- Publications → Issues define what can be ordered; Issue Distributions and the global Orders module both surface distribution orders and order detail.
- Partners, Projects, and Field Reports link to program reporting; an issue’s Projects and Report tabs scope lists to that issue.
